Samuel Lyman Papers, 1795-1841.

CT lawyer who moved to Springfield, Massachusetts in 1784, was elected a member of the Massachusetts House of Representatives, and served in the Massachusetts State Senate. He was a justice of the court of common pleas of Hampshire County. Collection contains letters (1795-1800); letters by and to Mary Lyman (1796-1813); 2 letters to Robert Emery of Salem (1797-1814); letters of John Kelly (1840-1841); letter by Charles Emery (1844); and power of attorney, etc. granted by George Harris to Stodden Castle (1821-1823).
